Tu Di Gong (土地公) is a local earth god worshipped in folk religion and Taoism. Most villages have one or more shrines to Tu Di Gong. He is seen to have influence over issues of agriculture, health and prosperity. He is not all-powerful, but is a modest heavenly bureaucrat, often affectionately referred to as "Grandpa". Offerings of food, incense and paper money are given often to keep his good favour.
Our neighbouring Tu Di Gong is said to be particularly benevolent, and has been there for 300 years.
